Leinster are out of the Heineken Cup after suffering a 29-14 defeat to Toulon in France on Sunday.
The match, Brian O’Driscoll’s last in European competition, was never really in Matt O’Connor’s side’s grasp as the European champions dominated proceedings.
Tries from Xavier Chiocci and Drew Mitchell were added to kicks from Jonny Wilkinson, Matt Giteau and Delon Armitage for the home side.
Leinster did manage a try from Jordi Murphy and trio of penalties from Jimmy Gopperth, but never had the lead on a miserable afternoon for the Irish province.
Overall everyone has to admit Toulon were another class today. Leinster just never got to the standard. There’s still silverware to be won.

Arsenal lost, Leinster lost. I have nothing to be happy about.

All of a sudden Munster becomes a 32 county province. Gutted for Leinster.

This game will sting for a few days but we’ve just got to pick ourselves up and remember there’s another trophy to work towards #Leinster

Hard luck Leinster…. Best wishes to Munster – the only remaining province in the Heineken Cup. @leinsterrugby

My head was right that Toulon would win, they literally suffocated Leinster in defense and dominated them in the rucks
