It seems like he’s been around forever and maybe doesn’t always get the credit that his talent deserves.
Wayne Rooney has been the subject of much debate since he first grabbed our attention as a 16 year old with that brilliant goal against Arsenal.
Some say he is over-rated and even sections of Man Utd’s own fans have never been totally convinced by his talents, it didn’t help that he threw all of his toys out of the pram twice in a bid to get his wage demands met. We image that Rooney had a rattle and an Action Man during these strops.
Louis van Gaal has recently said that his captain won’t be dropped and this statistic, provided by Opta, seems to prove the Dutchman’s point.
94 – Wayne Rooney has scored (66) or assisted (28) 94 goals in his last 100 Premier League games at Old Trafford. Example.

Ok so not all of the games were successful during this period, David Moyes lost a few, but in anyone’s language that is a pretty incredible statistic and it proves what an invaluable player he is at Old Trafford.
Cue Rooney extorting the club for a third pay rise after hearing about this information.
