This eBay bidding for All-Ireland Football Final tickets is totally out of control

Alan Loughnane

The tickets are gold dust but this is ridiculous…

They say nothing beats being there, but the people who said that, didn’t realise they might have to sell their granny on the black market to fund being there.

Tickets for the All-Ireland Football Final are never easy to come by especially when two strongly supported teams like Mayo and Dublin are providing the on-field entertainment.

While unfortunately it was to be expected that not all tickets would be sold at face value over the next couple of weeks, the money people are seemingly willing to pay to see their team in an All-Ireland Football Final is jaw dropping.

According to one page on eBay, bids for the tickets have reached as high as €12,100 for a pair of tickets to the game.

On another, there’s bids in excess of €3,000 for two tickets to Croker on the third Sunday in September.

It remains to be seen if the bidders are *actually* willing to part with that kind of cash to see their team but the All-Ireland ticket frenzy is well and truly under way.
