Bad news for Ulster fans this morning.

Bad news for Ulster fans this morning.

As we enter mid-August, the rugby season is getting closer and closer and Ulster could be facing into the first few months of the new season without a key man.

The Irish Times report today that winger Tommy Bowe could be sidelined for three months with a wrist injury. The hand he damaged on the Lions tour may have suffered further ligament damage and exploratory surgery will have to take place to look at the injury.

If ligament damage is confirmed today, it means 12 weeks out of action, meaning Bowe would only be back in mid November, putting the Monaghan man’s participation in the Autumn internationals against Samoa, Australia and New Zealand in doubt too.
