Thousands of Irish football fans anxiously opened their e-mail inboxes this morning as word arrived from UEFA to confirm whether their applications for tickets to Euro 2016 were successful or not. The FAI subsequently succeeded in increasing Ireland’s allocation to 33,334 and have given assurances that they will continue to seek out extra tickets which may be returned by UEFA allocations for each match. Furthermore, the FAI also confirmed that an extra 2,000 tickets will be held in reserve for supporters who have a proven attendance record at Ireland matches and have missed out on tickets under the current process.
