What a result…
Ciaran Killduff was the hero of the day when he came off the bench to score the winner for Dundalk in tonight’s Europa League clash with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Dundalk won the match 1-0 and in doing so became the first Irish club to win a European group game.
They now climb to second place in the group behind Zenit St Petersburg and have a very real chance of qualifying from the group.
But the money they made for tonight’s game and win is spectacular, especially when compared to what they would earn in the League of Ireland.
Was using last year's figures! Dundalk earnings for three hours Euro football are €3.08m, same as winning every domestic league until 2044!

For tonight’s win alone they earned €360,000 in prize-money, over three times what they received for winning the league title last year.
It was a wonderful performance (once again) from this side and Twitter was suitably impressed with their win.
Fair play to them…
History makers! 🇮🇪

Shamrock beating Partizan over 2legs is the biggest European shock in Irish history but Dundalk's win tonight puts them on course to top it!
