The 2016 Olympic Games may have ended in disappointed for Katie Taylor, but the boxer from Bray is back on track after winning her first professional fight against Karina Kopinska in London.
Taylor outclassed her Polish opponent, winning the bout in a third round stoppage.
Speaking after the fight, she said that she was aiming for the very top of the sport.
“That would be the dream, boxing for a world title in Dublin, or anywhere in Ireland. I don’t want to get too carried away, it was only my first fight as a pro, but I plan to do big things in this sport. I hope to be multiple-weight world champion.”
