UFC are reportedly returning to Dublin in 2018

It will be the first time the Octagon has set up shop in the capital since 2015.

Fans of the company will be happy to hear that they may not have to travel very far for their next UFC fix.

In a report by MMA Fighting, they have received word from multiple sources that an upcoming UFC event will take place on Sunday 27 May.

Once again, the event is said to be taking place in the 3 Arena.

It will be the first time the UFC have visited Dublin since October 2015, when Fight Night 76 took place and had Irish flyweight Paddy Holohan headlining alongside Hawaiian fighter Louis Smolka.

Conor McGregor had also previously headlined a UFC event in Ireland, when he defeated Diego Brandao at UFC Fight Night 46 back in July 2014.

This week, McGregor has claimed that he offered to take part in UFC 222 against Frankie Edgar, which both Edgar and his manager have denied, and responded that Edgar would “beat the shit out of him and the entire nation of Ireland”.
