The Spanish keeper seems a bit mystified.
Eyebrows were raised when Victor Valdes was ommitted from the Manchester United touring squad which travelled to the US for their pre-season tour.
When pressed upon his ommission, United manager Louis van Gaal said that he “refused to play” in the reserves. “He doesn’t follow my philosophy. There is no place for someone like that,” said Van Gaal on Valdes.
Valdes took to Twitter to post this message showing the three matches he played in for the Under 21s and also a picture of him with some of the U21 squad. He seems confused:

It makes Van Gaal’s comment seem a little baffling given the fact that Valdes has played in some U21 matches. Whatever happens, it looks like Valdes has no place in the plans of Van Gaal.
