Without a doubt they were of the greatest teams of the Premier League era…

Arsenal are currently preparing for to resume their Premier League duties but ten years ago today the greatest Gunners side that Arsene Wenger ever assembled were re-writing the history books, with some of the best football we’ve ever seen.

A 3-1 win against Aston Villa marked the 49th game unbeaten for the Gunners as they broke the English record for most games unbeaten.

Arsenal went the entirety of their 2003/04 winning season without a single defeat and continued this blistering form into the early stages of the next season before the run came to an end at Old Trafford.

The numbers are incredible: 49 games unbeaten; 147 goals scored; 20 wins at Highbury; 16 wins away from home; just 13 draws and an amazing 77 weeks either side of a defeat.

Do you want to know how many points the Gunners picked up in this period? 121 from 147.

There were 33 players used during this period and we think that the names of Lehmann, Lauren, Campbell, Toure, Cole, Ljunberg, Viera, Gilberto, Pires, Bergkamp and Henry will forever be remembered by Arsenal fans.

Here are some of their best moments.

Take a look at this infographic that Arsenal released breaking down the appearances, goals and statistical information from that superb team.

Simply wonderful.
