A cool idea from these eight guys.

A cool idea from these eight guys.

Carlow man Paul McElligott is now living in Chicago but before he left home he decided to do something special with seven of his friends.

They hired a camper van and set off around Ireland in an attempt to play gaelic football or hurling in every county on the island and it was all to raise money for charity.

They traveled to the likes of Glendalough, the Cliffs of Moher, the Giant’s Causeway and Blarney Castle and met GAA stars like Noel McGrath, Johnny Buckley, Walter Walsh and Aaron Kernan.

The guys have released a preview video of the trip, check it out here.

The reason for it is to raise money for six worthy charities – the Irish Cancer Society, Irish Autism Action, Down Syndrome Ireland, Samaritians Ireland, Peter McVerry Trust and the Ciaran Carr Foundation.

To donate, click on the guy’s My Charity page here.
