Video: A really cool independent trailer for the 2014 All-Ireland Hurling Championship

This will get the hair standing on the back of the necks of all hurling fans.

This will get the hair standing on the back of the necks of all hurling fans.

Fans of the small ball game will truly be spoilt rotten if this season’s Championship can live up to what we were treated to last year, but if the first really big clash of the season at the weekend, the draw between Cork and Waterford, was a sign of things to come, then it could be an even better summer this time around.

It shouldn’t really take a lot for hurling fans to get excited about what lies in store, but an independent trailer produced by NUIG student Micheal O Thailtigh will certainly help as it looks back on last year and championships of a bygone era, mixing black and white archive footage with some high quality clips from last summer, with an epic-sounding soundtrack to boot.

Great work Micheal, given their fondness for montages like this, the Sky GAA heads might come calling in the near future…
