The new series of the excellent Laochra Gael begins this weekend and they have chosen the perfect man to kick it off. Waterford’s star man for the past decade was John Mullane. The passionate forward was as skilled as he was driven and he delivered numerous performances for the ages for county and club before retiring from the inter-county scene last year.
At 5.55 on Sunday, the Deise legend will be the focus of TG4’s best known documentary strand, and with contributions from the likes of Dan Shanahan and Ger Loughnane, as well as the man himself, it should be a cracking watch.
