This afternoon St Michael’s will play Newbridge for a place in the Leinster Senior Cup final. Waiting for them there are Blackrock, who won an epic semi-final over Roscrea 23-20 on Sunday.
Down 20-9 with just 10 to go the Dublin school racked up the necessary points in injury time to tee up a shot at a 67th crown.
It was all very cruel on Roscrea but at least the have the tiny consolation of the score of the game. This individual bit of brilliance by their out-half Ciaran Gaffney may have been in defeat, but what a moment for the youngster.
