Video: An epic, uplifting look at Munster’s journey to the Heineken Cup semi-final

If this doesn’t get Munster fans in the mood for Sunday then we don’t know what will.

If this doesn’t get Munster fans in the mood for Sunday then we don’t know what will.

We’re sure those of you with Munster rugby in your blood are already nervously counting down the minutes, hours and days until Sunday at this stage, but the moment of destiny is almost upon Rob Penney’s men, who will take on reigning European Champions Toulon in Marseille this weekend.

Yes, Toulon are fearsome opponents and yes, they looked mightily impressive against Leinster last time out, but this is Munster’s 11th Heineken Cup semi-final after all so it’s not as if they’ll be affected by a fear of the unknown.

The performance against Toulouse in the quarter-final provides plenty of reasons for optimism amongst Munster supporters and if any of them were looking for a little inspiration, or something to get them in the mood for the big game, they could do worse than have a look back at the Pirates of the Caribbean-style reflection on the province’s Heineken Cup campaign so far.

The province released the video alongside an #InvadeMarseille hashtag and that could well be the bold attitude required for Paul O’Connell and his hearties to plunder a result in France and set them up for a tilt at the precious Heineken Cup treasure for the third time in their history. Yarr.
