Video: An Irish bride called on Conor McGregor and other UFC stars to surprise her husband with a brilliant wedding gift

This one’s a keeper, alright.

This one’s a keeper, alright.

Andrew Murphy got married on Saturday and if it wasn’t already the best day of his life, his new wife ensured that it was even more memorable than he could ever have hoped (and we’re not talking about anything that went on behind closed doors).

His wife Marina, a Wexford woman herself, surprised Andrew, a keen MMA fighter, with a video of some big names from the worlds of UFC and MMA who wanted to wish Andrew and Marina the best on their big day, having secretly got in contact with them over the last year.

Among those to feature in the video were UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson (who’s fighting on the same card as Conor McGregor in Las Vegas this weekend), Brad Pickett, Gunnar Nelson and Irish fighters Paul Redmond, Neil Seery and Paddy Holohan while McGregor, Norman Parke and Bruce Buffer were among those to pass on their best wishes in message form.

Andrew told us that himself and Marina actually met at an MMA bootcamp class at Waterford MMA and that, by coincidence, they had booked the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for this weekend before Christmas last year and have already secured tickets to see McGregor in action on Saturday night.

Andrew contacted us a little earlier today and was keen to express his appreciation for his new wife – he might have used the words ‘luckiest man in the world’ – and we have to say that she’s outdone herself with this gesture, especially for a man so keen into MMA as Andrew clearly is.

Fingers crossed they have a great honeymoon and Conor McGregor can do the business to top it all off and Andrew… you’ve a lot of making up to do!

Hat-tip to Andrew Murphy, Mike Murphy and Laura Murphy for sending this one our way
