The Fox Sports crew are back with another brilliant top five this week and this time it’s our own Brian O’Driscoll who’s side-stepped his way into the number one slot.

The theme for this week’s top five from Sean Maloney and the Rugby HQ crew was tries scored with the help of the boot, of which there have been many classic touch downs over the years.

If we could, we would have lobbied for Shane Horgan’s glorious try from a Ronan O’Gara cross-kick against England in Croke Park a few years back but then again, it’s not a bad list as it is.

Despite great efforts from the likes of Joe Roff, Mils Muliaina and a brilliant chip and chase from South African lock Victor Madfield, yes Victor Madfield, it is our own Brian O’Driscoll who takes top spot thanks to a special effort against Wasps in a Heineken Cup clash at the RDS in 2008.

Receiving the ball on the blindside close to the touchline, O’Driscoll chipped it delicately over one defender and not so delicately over another before touching down in the corner, making him a worthy winner of one of the most enjoyable categories thought up by the lads at Fox Sports to date.

Hat-tip to Sean Maloney and Fox Sports Rugby HQ for this one
