Video: Brilliant piece of opportunistic advertising during Transfer Deadline Day

If there’s one day a company would like to advertise on Sky Sports News, then Deadline Day would certainly be it. And if you can get it for free, all the better.

If there’s one day a company would like to advertise on Sky Sports News, then Deadline Day would certainly be it. And if you can get it for free, all the better.

Although it provides a fantastic service, Sky Sports news can be a little bit boring and repetitive at times, but it really comes alive on Transfer Deadline Day, with football fans eagerly tuning in for news of more arrivals and departures than you’d see on an airport notice board.

With that in mind, we imagine that it must cost a fair whack to advertise on the channel on today of all days but there are crafty ways around it, as one wheelie bin company proved outside the Arsenal training ground earlier today.

The stunt pulled by the van driver nearly came a cropper when he had to pull up to allow a car out onto the road, but undeterred, he still managed to reverse back in time for viewers to have one last glimpse at the finish.

Brilliant.

Hat-tip to Johnny Bowles and Robbie Kingston for sending this one into us
