Longford Town’s Mark Salmon’s controlled volley is something else…
Longford Town moved up into second place in the SSE Airtricity League Divison 1 table last night thanks to a 3-0 win away at Galway FC. The goals for the Midlands side came from Don Cowan, Gary Shaw and Mark Salmon and Salmon’s first half strike was something very special indeed.
The midfielder got in the way of a clearance by a Galway defender, controlled it on his chest, let it bounce and then pinged in a volley from all of 30 yards out.
It’s as good as anything you’ll see in Brazil this month…
