Our MMA man Fergus Ryan spoke to Conor McGregor just before his Cage Warriors 51 bout and came away pretty convinced that the Irish fighter was the real deal. And McGregor promised as his parting shot: “I’m a true martial artist and there’s no-one in combat sports, I don’t care what it is, that can touch me. On New Year’s Eve, I’m gonna blast my way into the UFC!”
Well he certainly was good to his word as he destroyed Ivan Buchinger in less than one round to add the lightweight belt to his featherweight crown at The Helix on December 31.
