Video: Former Dubs dual star Shane Ryan stars in brilliant Anchorman ‘Afternoon Delight’ parody

Footballer, hurler, actor, singer, is there anything Shane Ryan can’t do?

He’s certainly got plenty of chops as far as acting and singing are concerned, as is evidenced by his starring role in a version of ‘Afternoon Delight’ which won him and the fellow members of his ‘News Team’ a trip to the Anchorman premiere in Dublin on Monday thanks to Spin 1038.

The video was put together by Ryan and some of his teaching colleagues from St. David’s Boy’s National School in Artane with the former All-Star starring as Champion ‘Champ’ Kind, Shaun Conaghan from Donegal as Ron Burgundy, Denis Maloney from Clare as Brick Tamland and Conor Lyons from Cavan as Brian Fantana.

Not only do they do a fairly impressive rendition of ‘Afternoon Delight’ they also throw a bit of Gaeilge in there for good measure and Ryan doesn’t miss a beat when adding the all-important ‘booooos’ and ‘whoops’ during the chorus.

It’s certainly impressive, but how does it measure up to the original? We’ll let you decide.
