Whenever Eddie gives up the football, a gig in commentary certainly awaits…

We’re sure he’s keen on firing over scores for Galway for some time yet but when he eventually hangs up the boots, Galway forward Eddie Hoare could probably take up Marty Morrissey’s mantle in the commentary box, certainly if this impersonation of legendary GAA commentator Michael Ó Muircheartaigh is anything to go by.

The clip above is almost two months old having been recorded following the Tribesmen’s victory over London in May, but we only got wind of it this morning and judging by the number of views on YouTube, it appears as if only a few people have been treated to one of the best impersonations of the great man we’ve ever seen or heard.

If things go well in Thurles tomorrow evening, Hoare might be recounting Galway’s performance in a similar style on the bus home but we sure hope it’s not the last time we hear this party piece rolled out nonetheless.
