Video: How cool was that? This is how you help out your teammate on the ice-rink

Dropped your stick? No problem, let me get that for you sir.

Dropped your stick? No problem, let me get that for you sir.

You may well have noticed at this stage, but we are big fans of ice-hockey in JOE towers and regular feature videos from the NHL and other hockey leagues around the world.

Usually, it’s a great goal, a big hit or a nasty injury that is the focus of attention, but this morning we stumbled upon a brilliant piece of invention from the German league that had no effect on the match itself but is great to watch all the same.

It took place immediately after a restart during a match between the Krefeld Penguins (Krefeld Pinguine) and Adler Mannheim recently, when one of the Penguins players lost his stick during the face-off and sprinted back towards his own goal in an effort to help out at the back.

Thankfully for him, one of his teammates had the presence of mind to nonchalantly flick the stick backwards in his direction while also heading towards goal at full speed, executing what could hardly have been an easy manoeuvre as if it was the easiest thing in the world.

What are teammates for, eh?

Hat-tip to Celtic Clovers IHC for sending this one our way
