Video: If you didn’t see Jonny May’s try for England at the weekend, you need to watch it right now

“He’s so fast he makes fast people look… not fast”

Amidst all the jubilation surrounding Ireland’s fantastic win over South Africa on Saturday, you may have missed another brilliant piece of play that day from England’s Jonny May.

In the opening minutes of England’s game against New Zealand at Twickenham, May received the ball in his half and beat the usually rock solid Conrad Smith on the outside to break the line.

He then caught Israel Dagg by surprise by putting on the afterburners and squeezing through a tiny gap between the full-back and the touchline to score a really brilliant try for England.

May is often criticised for not running directly enough and backing his pace but he definitely couldn’t be accused of that on Saturday. Despite the great try, it didn’t have an impact on the overall result as the All Blacks recovered to run out 24-21 winners.

We would obviously love to see him scoring more tries like that just as long as it doesn’t affect Ireland in any way at all… ever…
