We all love boxing here in JOE Towers but while most of our attention has been on the World Champion Andy Lee in recent weeks, another major fight has slipped under the radar.

Trust us, there’s only one place to be if you’re in Offaly over the St Patrick’s Day weekend because local priest, Father Pierre ‘Jalapeno’ Pepper , will be taking on Jared O’Maidín with the proceeds going to St Vincent DePaul.

Word of advise, don’t be fooled by the collar around Father Pepper’s neck. Just because he’s a man of the cloth doesn’t mean he’ll be throwing in the towel or showing his opponent any forgiveness.

He’ll leave that for confession.
