Talented on multiple fronts it seems

Talented on multiple fronts it seems…

Leinster rugby player Tadhg Furlong was named in the Irish squad for the Rugby World Cup today, but it seems that, if rugby didn’t work out for the prop, he could have had a career in GAA.

We’ve unearthed this footage of Furlong playing Gaelic Football with his local GAA club Horeswood down in Wexford.

Playing what seems to be an Under 12s or 14s game, Furlong showcases some great defensive skills, a decent turn of pace and the ability to take a rattle in this short video.

Supposedly he made GAA county teams at underage and according to Niall O Callaghan, who sent us in the clip, he used to show up to U10s training “smelling of cow manure after helping his old lad with the cows.”

Be careful Joe Schmidt, the Wexford footballers could come calling for him yet…
