The 100 metres in a world record time of 16.87 seconds? Why it can only be the four-legged sprinting record.

The 100 metres in a world record time of 16.87 seconds? Why it can only be the four-legged sprinting record.

Usain Bolt can relax, his own record seems safe, but it seems like Japanese competitor Kenichi Oto is ruling the roost when it comes to this alternative sprinting.

The style is a little unusual and we would imagine there could be quite the head-rush at the end, but this is the crème de la crème of the running based on the Patas monkey.

And Oto is the top dog, or should we say monkey, breaking his own record to claim his place in history. His previous time of 17.47 was shattered and looks imperious on this particular form.
