Jenson Button managed to top his cringe worthy Head & Shoulders advert by astonishinlgy pulling into the wrong pit during the Chinese Grand Prix on Sunday.
Button was in the lead as he entered the pit lane ahead of Sebastian Vettel for his first stop of the race. But rather than homing in on his own McLaren crew, the Englishman turned in prematurely and found himself surrounded by Red Bull mechanics. They quickly shooed the illegal parker on his way, as reigning world champion Vettel was bearing down on them.
“As I came into the pits I’d flicked a switch and realised ‘Oh my God, it’s not the right switch,'” Button said.
“As I was correcting it I looked up and realised it wasn’t my stop. There are lots of things going on. It’s not like pulling up to the traffic lights in your road car.”
