Joe Brolly declared today that he would wear a Mayo jersey live on The Sunday Game if Mayo emerged victorious in today’s clash with Dublin.
He’s not just doing it for the craic, he’s doing it for a lovely reason…
“A beautiful young girl named Laura Donnellan,” Brolly said. “Before she died of cystic fibrosis she asked me, ‘I want you to do something for me,’ she had very little time to live.
“If Mayo win the All-Ireland, I want you to wear the Mayo jersey in the Sunday Game studio after the final whistle.”
Brolly went onto say that Laura’s mother had contacted him during the week to ensure that he would follow through on his promise.
