VIDEO: Manchester City players read out mean tweets and they’re very funny

I'm sure they're deeply hurt

Paul Moore

I’m sure they’re all deeply hurt.

Manchester City’s squad must be feeling pretty good right now after their 4-2 win against spellcheck enemies Borussia Mönchengladbach, but like all footballers, City’s players aren’t exempt from being abused online.

At this stage, dealing with trolls is probably second nature to all footballers but some of City’s squad have decided to come together and take the mickey out of themselves.

There’s also a good reason for the video too as Vincent Kompany takes the time to raise awareness of the damages that cyber bullying can cause.

I’ve no doubt that there are ‘racier’ tweets out there but the clip is a good insight into the personalities in their changing room.

For example; Elia Mangala probably wouldn’t say boo to a ghost, Vincent Kompany is unflinchingly honest and Bacary Sagna looks like he’s too cool for school.

I especially love the tweet saying “Fabian Delph sounds like he smokes 40 a day and owns a dog track in Huddersfield”.
