A magic, magic, 147 finish nine-darter by Phil Taylor was the highlight of the Aberdeen round of the Premier League last year. Will he repeat the trick tonight?

In the opening round of the Premier League Darts last week in Belfast, a number of players made very good starts to landing the magic nine-dart finish but none were able to seal the deal.

But we are 100 per cent convinced that a nine-darter will occur during the tournament this year. The odds are still very generous on it happening (8/11) and if anyone can do it, it’s Phil Taylor. The Power has nine televised perfect legs in his career, including one in the Aberdeen round of the Premier League last year.

As you can see above, it is a real thing of beauty with treble 19 utilised and a 147 finish.

Tonight Taylor plays Adrian Lewis in Aberdeen, a real cracker of a game. The Power drew with Michael van Gerwen last week, so a first win would be no harm, though it won’t come easy against two-time World Champion Lewis.

In the other games, Barney kicks off the night playing Wes Newton. Andy Hamilton plays James Wade next followed by the match between Simon Whitlock and Gary Anderson. Taylor v Lewis is fourth up before Scot Robert Thornton faces Mighty Mike van Gerwen.

The actions begins on Sky tonight at 7pm.
