Connacht’s famous victory over Toulouse seems like a long, long time ago at this stage.
That magnificent victory for Pat Lam’s side over the aristocrats of European rugby is one of four games recalled in a highlights package by TG4, which should provide some consolation for fans of the Irish provinces on a weekend when, sadly, none of them will be involved at the Millennium Stadium in the last ever Heineken Cup Final.
All four provinces feature, with highlights of Leinster’s demolition of Northampton Saints, Ulster’s narrow victory over Leicester Tigers at Welford Road and Munster’s mauling of Toulouse in the quarter-final at Thomond Park also included in a showcase of the best of Irish rugby this season.
There are some great memories, cracking tries and excellent packages of play in there, but it might be tough looking on too knowing what might have been.
