After a weekend hat-trick, the Irish striker continued his fine form with a brace last night.
It’s not long now until we have to start getting really stressed out about playing Austria and Sweden in two massive World Cup qualifiers. It almost goes without saying that six points would be ideal and as we saw against Wales, it seems that Robbie Keane is still our best hope of a goal.
With that in mind, it is no harm at all to see the Dubliner in a rich vein of form right now with the La Galaxy. He nabbed three against Real Salt Lake at the weekend and last night, the MLS champs hosted Costa Rican club Cartaginés in the first game of the new CONCACAF Champions League season.
The Galaxy can thank Keane for getting off to a winning start as he scored both goals in a 2-0 win.

The first (above) wasn’t the best finish to be honest, with the keeper arguably more responsible for the goal than Keane but the second was a very fine finish indeed.

Just keep the goal scoring going for a few more weeks if you can Robbie…
