ESPN’s Sports Science crew also have the Irish man hit a shot in the dark and putt on glass.

As preparations for the US Open goes, we’re not sure any of these tests will do Rory McIlroy much good when he tees it up at Pinehurst later this week. But at least we now know that the Holywood man is pretty good at golf on any surface, including coleslaw and glass.

Firstly, to test his accuracy, they make the 2011 US Open champ hit a shot in the dark through a fairly small hole in the wall. From there he has to play out of a bunker made entirely of coleslaw, 900lbs of it, six inches thick.

After that test, McIlroy has to convert a 50 foot putt on glass, which runs a lot faster than even US Open greens.
