Video: Some kids and the New Zealand Rugby League team have a haka-off

The Rugby League World Cup kicks off later this month, and one of the games, Australia v Ireland, will be played in Limerick.

The rest are on in England and France, so teams have been arriving to acclimatise before it all gets started. The New Zealand team, reigning champs in this code too, are in a Pool with France, so they play some games there, but they are currently in England as they play their first game, against Samoa, in Warrington.

Today they set out to meet the locals and at a Doncaster school, the kids had prepared a fairly fearsome haka to greet the Kiwis. The rugby team let the kids finish, before launching into their own haka, which is fairly intimidating at the best of times, but especially so in a small room like this.

We don’t get to see the kids’ reaction to the professional haka, but we expect some of them were suitably terrified.
