Video: Some lads playing hurling on The Jeremy Kyle Show

The growth of Gaelic Games hits new and unexpected places.

The growth of Gaelic Games hits new and unexpected places.

It’s a busy week for the GAA. They have the Australian lads over in Dublin for the International Rules and at the weekend, a hybrid hurling game will be played in Notre Dame to promote the sport Stateside. All in all, exciting times for the fellas from Jones’ Road.

So maybe this is part of a guerrilla marketing campaign by the GAA to get hurling even more exposure. Or, more likely, it is just a few lads on a J1 having a puck around while an unsuspecting Jeremy Kyle director doesn’t really know what is going on.

Kyle’s US shows were filmed in New York until it was cancelled at the back end of last year so if anybody thinks they can identify the lads with the hurleys from 2012, do let us know.

Cheers to Conor Byrne for the video, though we do question his viewing habits…

UPDATE: It turns out that Jeremy Kyle is sound. The hurlers in the above video, Alan Beirne, Cathal Hanly and David Dolen, got in touch with us. The lads are from Roscommon and Kyle came over to have his picture taken with the lads.

He also gave the lads passes to the show the next day.

Thanks to Alan and Cathal for getting in touch.
