Largely unknown to the Irish sporting public a few years ago, Conor McGregor is something of a household name in this country and beyond these days and was one of the most prominent figures when it came to putting MMA on the map in Ireland.

The man known as Notorious made an instant impact on his UFC debut last year but disaster struck when he suffered a serious knee injury in his only his second fight in August, since when he has been battling back to fitness and making great progress while doing so.

Always a compelling and entertaining subject on camera, McGregor will feature in an upcoming RTE documentary, ‘The Notorious : Reality Bites’ which was filmed over six months and follows Conor’s journey from when he shot to overnight fame after his UFC debut in Stockholm through to his next fight and American debut in August 2013.

Produced by Motive Television for RTE, the documentary is directed by Patrick Timmons Ward, produced by Jamie D’Alton and filmed by Gavin Fitzgerald and associate producer Graeme McDonnell. Recent Motive Television sport documentaries include the IFTA 2014 nominees ‘We Got Game’, ‘Batmen’ ‘The Gambler’ and ‘Man On A Mission’ which won the 2012 IFTA for Best Sports Programme.

The Notorious : Reality Bites will air on RTE Two on Thursday, 13th March at 9.30pm

Hat-tip to Jamie D’Alton for sending this our way
