While Cork’s capitulation to a Jonathan Glynn inspired Galway seemed to grab most of the attention, for obvious reasons I might add, Waterford’s recovery against Dublin was just as impressive.
The Allianz League champions were made to work hard for their win though after Ger Cunningham’s men went into the break with a one point advantage. I’m fairly certain that most supporters were on their seat at Semple Stadium and this feeling was reciprocated throughout Ireland for fans of both counties.
Any fears among the Waterford fans were calmed though thanks to goals from Shane Bennett and Maurice Shanahan but that didn’t stop the mother of JOE reader Anna Walsh from losing her mind in a flurry of curses during the match.
This is gas.
It gets better though because it turns out that Anna’s mam is originally from Waterford but now lives in Kilkenny.
She should be great craic when the two counties meet each other in the semi-final!
