Video: This just might be the best goal you’ll see all year… and it was scored by a Bohemians player

We don’t know the name of the player and what level he was playing at for Bohemians but what we do know is that this is one of the best individual goals we’ve seen in a long, long time.

We don’t know the name of the player and what level he was playing at for Bohemians but what we do know is that this is one of the best individual goals we’ve seen in a long, long time.

The goal was scored in a game between Bohs and Leixlip recently and thank God there was someone on hand to film proceedings because they happened to record a quite stunning individual effort that Messi, Ronaldo or any of the top players in the world would be proud of.

Receiving the ball just beyond the centre circle in the opposition, the mystery genius in question cheekily kept the ball aloft by playing keepy-uppies with himself en route to the corner flag, where he nutmegged one defender, dragged it effortlessly past another and then finished nonchalantly into the far top corner with the outside of his right boot.

The quality and sheer ridiculousness of the goal prompted one observer to shout ‘Holy Crap’ and it’s hard to disagree with him.

If anyone would like to enlighten us as to the identity of the mystery goalscorer  feel free to do so via Twitter, Facebook or [email protected] because this fella deserves the acclaim of a wider audience.

What. A. Goal.

UPDATE: We’ve been told the goalscorer is Eric Wade, for the Bohs Under 17s, and the goal was scored in 2009. Any one who can tell us where Eric is now, do get in touch.
