Video: With lots of Fr Ted references, this Clare hurling song is a cracker

JOE

With added Grainne Seoige too…

As we have said a few times already, the volume of songs coming out of Clare ahead of the All-Ireland final is truly staggering. It’s not quite at Euro 2012 levels but the Banner certainly know how to bang out a tune.

The latest effort, by Declan Clancy and Ruairi Henchy is a cut above most of the rest for a few reasons. Firstly, the Fr Ted inspired opening is class. The burning desire to meet Grainne Seoige on Up For The Match is entirely plausible and the song itself is pretty feckin’ good too.

Add in a class video, with a Cork clad Bishop Brennan getting kicked up by the arse by a fella in a Clare shirt in the middle of it, outside the Fr Ted house (which is in Clare) and you have a mini-classic.

Fair play lads and thanks to all of you who sent it our way.
