Vine: Chelsea fan and Pat Spillane lookalike makes offensive gesture towards Atletico Madrid fans

Controversial and all as he can be at times you’d never see Pat Spillane carry on like this on live TV.

Controversial and all as he can be at times you’d never see Pat Spillane carry on like this on live TV.

Semi-finals are all about winning and Jose Mourinho knows that better than anyone, but most football fans would have expected a little more entertainment than what was served up by Chelsea and Atletico Madrid in their 0-0 draw at the Vicente Calderon tonight.

Chelsea set their stall out to defend and they did that pretty impressively and after the final whistle, one Blues fan – who bears more than a passing resemblance to Kerry legend and current RTE GAA pundit Pat Spillane – sought to rub what was a decent result in the faces of the home fans with a not so classy gesture that was caught by the TV cameras, who decided to linger on the Spillane lookalike for longer than seemed necessary.

In Spillane’s lingo, most neutrals would have said that the game was pure ‘puke football’ but we’re sure that the fan in question thought it was a ‘brillint’ result.

Not that it excuses the gesture, mind, there’s never any need for that.
