Vine: Kevin Kilbane’s first line as co-commentator on the France v Nigeria game didn’t go particularly well

Want to try that again there, Kev?

A last 16 clash in the World Cup is probably the biggest game that Kevin Kilbane has ever co-commentated on in his media career to date, so you could understand if he was a little bit nervous ahead of the clash between France and Nigeria in Brasilia this evening.

Unfortunately for Kev, those nerves manifested themselves with millions of people watching on as he mistakenly referred to commentator Simon Brotherton as Jonathan Pearce…

In fairness to Kev, it was a tiny mistake and ultimately harmless; hopefully it doesn’t cost him a gig co-commentating on Colombia’s clash with Brazil on Friday, where he’ll no doubt be hoping for another encounter with his Colombian journalist friend…
