Vine: Marouane Fellaini’s attempt to fake injury last night was fairly laughable

For a big man, he went down very easily last night.

For a big man, he went down very easily last night.

Fellaini scored Manchester United’s opening goal in their 2-1 victory over Stoke City at Old Trafford last night, but the big Belgian also came under scrutiny for his role in Stoke’s equaliser shortly before half-time.

Fellaini gave the ball away in the build-up to Steven N’Zonzi’s strike and after losing possession he went down holding his neck after the slightest of collisions with Oussama Assaidi down United’s right side.

Replays showed that there was little if any contact made with Fellaini’s neck and it once again begs the question: do players not realise that every little thing is going to be picked up by the cameras?

Fellaini has since claimed that he actually twisted his neck before the Stoke goal, saying: “My neck twist a little bit, I stayed down because I felt the pain and they scored so, unlucky as well.”

Sure Marouane, and we could have made it in the big leagues if a hereditary calf injury hadn’t got it in the way. Honest.
