Anyone else think of Paul Alcock after watching this?
A small clip of referee Ovidiu Hategan from tonight’s Europa League game between Swansea and Napoli has brought back some fond memories here at JOE Towers.
Paolo di Canio’s infamous altercation with referee Paul Alcock is best known for the lengthy, ultimately failed, attempt by the man in black to stay on his feet.
Tonight, with no sign of Di Canio, or any contact at all in fact, referee Ovidiu Hategan went into a similar speed wobble but unlike Alcock, he managed to regain his balance, if not his composure.
