Today should have been a great day for Spanish athlete Victor Garcia. The 29-year old was in action in the 3000 metres steeplechase on the opening day of the European Athletics Championships in Zurich, where he will have been looking to build on the bronze medal he won in Helsinki two years ago.
Instead, Garcia ended up knocking himself out after suffering a horror fall over the final hurdle, when his knee hit the hurdle and he fell face first onto the track. Be warned, this doesn’t make for pretty viewing…
