Nobody was expecting that, right?

Nobody was expecting that, right?

All the build-up to the second leg of tonight’s Champions League semi-final between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid had been gearing towards a classic, but it turned into a rout as Real Madrid blitzed the European Champions in their own back yard.

Not many people would have tipped Sergio Ramos as a potential match-winner, but two goals from the controversial defender left Bayern with a mountain to climb and two further goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, one in each half, sealed a comprehensive victory on a glorious night for the visitors and a miserable one for the hosts.

Xabi Alonso will be a big loss for Carlo Ancelotti’s side after picking up a silly booking that rules him out of the final through suspension, but whoever comes through tomorrow night’s tie at Stamford Bridge won’t fancy taking on Los Blancos on the basis of tonight’s performance.
