WATCH: A class Icelandic chant broke out at the O’Donovan brothers’ homecoming in Skibbereen

A huge crowd turned out to welcome the pair home…

In case you lived under a very significant rock for the duration of the Olympics, and somehow managed to miss the multiple hilarious interviews that Gary and Paul O’Donovan did, you can find them here.

The duo from Skibbereen, Co Cork did themselves proud at the Rio Olympics when they won a silver medal in the lightweight double sculls.

It’s Ireland’s first Olympic medal in rowing and Gary followed it up by winning gold at the World Championships to add to his medal haul.

The pair returned home to a great reception in Cork, and we’re no good a judging crowds, but we reckon there must have been 17 million people there doing the Icelandic chant.

This is very cool footage captured by Cork’s 96FM
