WATCH: Amazing story of two Iraqi refugees taking up hurling in Berlin

GAA, bringing people together…

We’ve known for a long time that hurling and gaelic football are two of the best sports in the world, but it’s the people that make these sports great.

Iraqi refugee brothers Ahmed and Amjad Alsamaraie arrived in Berlin and didn’t know anybody. While they were in holding near the airport, they saw Berlin GAA, who we spoke to last year, holding a hurling training session and were invited to join.

The pair were impressed with the sport but it was the friendliness and camaraderie of the people in Berlin GAA club that struck them the most. Journalist Jerome Quinn caught up with the pair to hear their remarkable story and created this lovely video about the experiences with the GAA.

Have a look at the video below, and prepare to feel a burst of pride.
