WATCH: Glen Rovers’ fans absolutely took over Cork city following county final win

Alan Loughnane

A great day for the parish…

Glen Rovers retained their Cork Senior Hurling title at the weekend as they overcame Erin’s Own by 0-19 to 2-11.

Over 11,000 people packed into Pairc Ui Rinn to take in the spectacle and the Glen Rovers faithful were understandably jubilant when their team emerged on the correct side of the result.

A tour de force from Cork star Patrick Horgan inspired Rovers to their win as he hit 12 points on the day to seal victory after defeat looked to be on the cards with ten minutes remaining.

Everyone that knows Cork will be well aware that they’re a passionate GAA county down there and the fans emerged onto the streets in the Cork city centre to celebrate their win.

They say winning with your county is good, but there’s nothing quite like winning with your club.

Just ask this crowd from Louth
