WATCH: Ireland is set to get its first rugbygolf course

Introducing RugbyGolf.

It’s been a few years now since Footgolf has taken Ireland by storm, with 15 courses being set up across the country. Now we’re gearing up for the next craze in hybrid sports – rugbygolf.

Ireland’s first rugbygolf course will open next month in Bohernabreena, Dublin 24, on September 10.

Built around the same principles as footgolf and, indeed golf itself, players can use either their feet or their hands to take the rugby ball closer to the hole – but it probably makes the most sense to think of your foot as a driver or a chipping wedge and your arms as the putter.

If you’re finding this sport a little harder to visualise than footgolf, that’s no problem – the good lads at footee, who will operate the course in Bohernabreena alongside their already established footgolf course, have made a helpful video.
